ABOUT

Infinity Indigenous Consulting Services and Shannon Marks was created through the lens of lived experience, and as an Indigenous survivor of the child welfare system. Shannon Marks formally Shelley Ann Bush/Boucher is a Metis Nation Ontario(MNO)citizen and her family names are Boucher, Delaronde, Giroux, St.Onge, Vasseur and Dufault. I strive to provide clients with comprehensive solutions for information requests that meet their unique needs. Built from personal success derived from my obtained information requests, It furthered my understanding through extensive research and by engaging in facilitated storytelling of various life situations experienced by survivors. This cultivated a broader understanding of the "In the Best Interest of the Children" doctrine, housed under the Protection Acts, which ultimately failed the children. I then created a process crafted by Infinity Indigenous Consulting services that delivers results for information requests for release of records that are designed in a customized format for each provincial specific approach Including provincial compliance for Indigenous survivors who were Wards of the Child Welfare Systems, Residential, Industrial, and Training schools.

Independent Researcher

I adopted a research-creation approach, allowing qualitative data to directly shape the process of my final product. Historical archival evidence regarding Indigenous Child Welfare Systems confirms the details of past polices of unjust laws that historically governed over our Indigenous families and children that were placed in the entrusted power of governing authorities that ultimately failed the children."The Worst Stain In Canada's Human Rights Record".-Justice Beverley McLachlin.

"Knowledge of the past is the blueprint for future prevention".

Accountability over Autocracy

Infinity Indigenous Consulting Services serves the survivor/client with democracy, allowing for a fairer transparency as opposed to an autocratic dictation system controlled by centralized power, which often fails to preserve transparency obligations such as provincial rules that often result in restricted, redacted disclosures—blacked-out truths and excluded files, letters, and documents.

The Purpose

Well designed Information Requests include checklists to avoid “cherry-picked” disclosures that do not carry out deletion. I wanted to bridge the gap between red tape and our need for transparency within our own held files and government services that have left loop holes in their process.

Key Advantages of Lived Experience

At Infinity Consulting, I offer understanding, empathy, perspective, problem-solving capabilities, an unbiased viewpoint, and knowledge. My obtained Child welfare files points strongly to "root causes" that can aid in change, and manage risk derived from compelling evidence within my Child welfare files that leaves little doubt. Much needed change in policy should be the focus in keeping Indigenous families together so that Indigenous children are not raised by strangers.
